VR09 - Ancillary Equipment (Motorcycle Recovery)

This module teaches the use of ancillary equipment to aid in the recovery of motorcycles. Recovery Operatives learn about the different types of ancillary equipment and the operating procedures used to recovery motorcyles safely and professionally.

Theory:

• Health & Safety as it applies to Motorcycle Recovery
• Introduction to the types of equipment used in the recovery of motorcycles
• Using purpose-built recovery vehicles
• Using purpose-built recovery trailers
• Use of wheel cradles

Practical Skill Instruction:

• Demonstrate successfully the recovery of a motorcycle, loading, transporting and unloading of the casualty vehicle.
