Heavy Recovery Operative

1 full time position available

Hours: Mon - Fri 7am - 7pm; every 2nd week: evenings and weekends on call

Location: Banbury depot

Minimum Requirement: Class 1 licence

Based from our Oxford and/or Banbury depot, you will be responsible for the roadside repair and recovery of commercial vehicles up to 44T. Working a 5 day week with alternate evenings and weekends on call, we seek a committed and relaible individual with a flexible approach to work and a passion for all things 'truck'. A good mechanical knowledge of LGV's is essential as a HGV1 (C+E) licence.

Recovery Operative  

If a breakdown is serious enough to need recovery, we can safely assume the people involved aren't having the best of days. Which is why, as one of our Recovery Operatives, you're doing a whole lot more than recovering a vehicle on the back of a lorry.

You'll interact with people, reassure them, swiftly and safely get them to their destination, and generally ensure that they enjoy the very best customer experience they can under the circumstances.

Whatever your background, we seek reliable, presentable, individuals with a flexible approach to work and a passion for driving. You'll hold a HGV Class 2 licence but more important than this are your customer service skills to deal with people in stressful situations able to turn their negative experience into a positive one. Mechanical knowledge is also an advantage but not essential.

Previous experience in vehicle recovery, whilst desirable, again is not essential as full in-house training to IVR standards is provided. We can also offer the right candidate the opportunity of further career development as we look to grow our commercial recovery team.

Roadside Technician

We seek a hard working, reliable individual with a passion for motor vehicle mechanics and a flexible approach to work to join our growing team at Banbury.   You'll be responding to calls to assist customers at the roadside and provide accurate and safe vehicle diagnosis. Possessing an in depth practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical workings of a wide range of motor vehicles, including light commercials, you'll be given all the necessary tools to find faults and get vehicles up and running where practicably possible. With a personality people warm to, you'll have excellent customer service and verbal communication skills necessary for dealing with customers often in a vulnerable and stressful situation. 

This is not a normal 9 to 5 job. The role involves periods of availability outside of the shifted hours where you will be required to attend breakdowns on an 'on-call' basis. This is a very rewarding job with the opportunity to earn in excess of £25k p.a.
